Born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand, with Indian heritage, Ria experienced a culturally rich and diverse upbringing that cultivated her appreciation for the arts. She formally decided to take singing lessons at the age of 8, where she sculpted a powerful belt and vibrato alongside a tender soprano voice.

Simultaneously, Ria’s passion for dance flourished through training in the renowned dance studios in Bangkok: Studio Zoom and Urban Dance Studio, her speciality being in hip-hop and street styles.

In pursuit of her passion, she landed leading roles in her educational years, including Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, Abigail Williams in The Crucible, and Kendra in 13! The Musical. During this time, she also served as dance captain of her school’s dance team.

Ria continued to hone her skills at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City, learning how to infuse sensitivity and vulnerability into honest storytelling.

She currently works for two-time Tony Award-winning Broadway production company Fran Kirmser LLC and Bessie Award-nominated J CHEN PROJECT. She was most recently seen during Weathervane Theatre’s 60th season, appearing as Sandy Dumbrowski (Grease), Darlene Purvis (Honky Tonk Angels), Miranda (The Tempest), and more. Forever grateful to keep doing what she loves!
